I thought that this program was a good opportunity to start applied satellite education.
The program would give me an excellent chance to experience a mission statement, design, manufacturing, testing to launching of a satellite, although a very small.
It will benefit me in two distinctive ways.
First, this program will have me a great deal in comprehension of technologies and implementation of technical management of small satellite project.
Secondly, as a lecturer, the experience will assist me to inspire and encourage young students in space technology.
As a space science promotional activity, our university Myanmar Aerospace Engineering University (MAEU) have already offered the space systems engineering students in every academic university year since 2005 and it is very much popular among university student at the moment.
Now, it is time to introduce an advanced activity of space science to the students. I found that through CLTP, I will be able to learn new and advance space science educational activity.
I think that CanSat is the very first step of space activities for developing countries.
So I participated for this program.
To learn how to design build and launch a small satellite and necessary information about constructing a satellite laboratory.
To improve our teaching method in aerospace engineering education.
To get information about Japanese systems engineering methodology for small/micro satellite design.
To manage national or regional satellite projects..
This program was organized very well and I was able to learn the whole process of making CANSAT during this period.
And I got the opportunity of learning much advanced designs such as Cube Sat.
This exposure will be so much beneficial for me to teach CanSat to the students.
This program provided me the opportunity of building relationships with people from other countries who involve in space science related activities.
The knowledge of microcontroller, PS, XBee communications Modules, Sensors, different techniques of sensor interfacing and data collecting are very much helpful for future CanSat developments.
And then, I got a lot of knowledge and teaching method from the online lecture and test assignments/quiz.
I think the CanSat Leader training program needed an additional week.
I want to gain experience in aerospace development. I want to have studies in post graduate diploma/research focused on developing satellites as well as small satellite design such as Cube-Sat, Nano-satellite, etc. A CanSat design, Assembly and Integration, Vibration and Thermal Cycle Testing, Launching Satellite by Paper rocket is a perfect training method for space education.
I believe that CanSat based education is the best way to go for space engineering.
It is both informative and cheap. Universities which have aerospace engineering departments should seriously consider CanSat training.
