CubeSatellites, Mission concepts, Space Stations, Human performance in Space
Statement of Purpose
For most of my time at university I have been part of a team that is creating a CubeSat.
Personally I have been most involved with the design, creation and testing of the payloads of this satellite, and unfortunately never had the pleasure of getting more hands-on experience with the other subsystems of the mission.
With CLTP I wanted to broaden my technical base and at the same time prepare for sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm about satellites with others.
Feedback from CLTP13
I had a wonderful two weeks in Japan where the program allowed us to go from being students to teachers in a relatively short amount of time.
The first time I saw the Hepta-Sat book I was astounded by the quality of the explanations and even more pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to follow the steps and learn in a very fun way.
Together with the other students and TA's/ organisers, I felt very welcome and had a great time learning about space and Japanese culture at the same time!
Vision for the future
I would love to bring this teaching method to others in the Netherlands to get a first hands-on experience with satellite subsystems.
I envision that people that are working on space missions will benefit a lot from this kind of trainings, and especially at the university I think that a Hepta-Sat training will enable people to get a feel satellite design.
Message for future CLTP participants
I would wish future CLTP participants a lot of fun during the trainings, ask a lot of questions and try to be creative and curious!
Keep an open mind with regards to different cultures that often mix during these kinds of trainings and enjoy the nice combination of teaching and learning from each other at the same time!
